Natural Cures for Cataracts
Cataracts represent the number one vision problem in the United States, and are also the leading cause of blindness.
Most cases of cataracts develop gradually over time and occur primarily in middle
to old age. However, it is possible that cataracts may form at any age. Because of the gradual onset of cataract symptoms, cataracts are often mistakenly considered to be a natural consequence of aging, allowing symptoms to progress undetected until it is too late to reverse the damage they can cause. When cataracts are detected early, though, natural healing approaches can usually halt their progression and even reverse them.
There are two main categories of cataracts—senile cataracts and inherited cataracts.
Senile cataracts make up the majority of cataract cases, and are characterized by spots on the lens of the eyes appearing in middle
to old age. Inherited cataracts, which can occur as early as one`s teenage years, and in some cases even earlier,
are much rarer than senile cataracts and are typically caused by an inherited disorder, such as diabetes or Down's syndrome.
The primary symptoms of cataracts are cloudy or opaque spots on the eyes` normally translucent lens. Initially, they may go unnoticed,
but over time they can cause partial or complete cloudiness in the lens. In severe cases, blindness can occur.
In fact, 40,000 Americans are struck blind each year because of cataracts.
Other symptoms of cataracts include blurry vision, changes in color perception, darkening of vision, night blindness,
and temporary improvement in farsightedness.
There are natural cures for cataracts that do not involve the use of pharmaceutical drugs.
They involve restoring the biochemical balance of the body, and making dietary and lifestyle changes designed to improve one's general health.
