Prostatitis is a condition characterized by chronic infection and/or inflammation of the prostate gland. It primarily occurs in males age 20 to 50, although it can occur at any age.

Note: Conventional medicine typically treats cases of prostatitis using antibiotics. Not only can such drugs cause various side effects, they are also completely ineffective for treating prostatitis that is not due to bacterial infection.

There are two types of prostatitis—chronic and acute. Chronic prostatitis, as its name suggests, is ongoing or recurring, while acute prostatitis tends to be more passing in nature.

Symptoms of both acute and chronic prostatitis typically involve tenderness and pain in the prostate gland that can be accompanied by lower back pain, chills, fatigue, fever, and/or blood or pus in the urine. In some cases, the flow of urine can also become obstructed, similar to what happens in cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). When this happens, there is a risk of kidney problems developing, including kidney failure. Prostatitis can also cause or exacerbate impotence, as well as pain in the anus and genitals.

Other symptoms include pain and/or a burning sensation during urination, as well as a discharge of pus from the penis following bowel movements. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, and, in cases of chronic prostatitis, can also be intermittent, flaring up and then disappearing before flaring up again a few days or weeks later.

There are natural cures for Prostatitis that do not involve the use of pharmaceutical drugs. They involve restoring the biochemical balance of the body, and making dietary and lifestyle changes designed to improve one's general health.
