Q. How come I never really hear about any of this stuff on TV or radio, or read about it in the newspapers and magazines?
A. As I mentioned, newspapers, magazines, radio, and television are outlets that are publicly traded corporations. Their only interest is making a profit. They have no interest in providing truthful information. They make a profit by getting ratings; therefore, they will produce stories that get the most ratings. Unfortunately, they are also in effect owned by the advertisers. The sponsors of these media outlets control the message that you hear on television and radio, and read in newspapers and magazines. That is the fact. No one can deny it. Therefore, since the majority of advertisers are pharmaceutical companies and the major food companies, you will never hear the truth that the food industry is giving you disease and the pharmaceutical drugs are giving you disease.
Q. You say it's all about the money, but it seems like you are really rich and have been rich most of your life, and you charge for your newsletter and Web site. It seems like you are only about the money too.
A. My dad was a blue-collar worker at G.E. He was a welder. My mom raised my brother and me, and managed the house. I grew up in an average blue-collar, middle-class family. I did not grow up rich. I barely made it through high school, and I never went to college. I started working when I was very young delivering newspapers, shoveling snow, and doing odd jobs in the neighborhood. I got my first real job working at a bowling alley cleaning the machines. I worked as a busboy and a waiter in a restaurant. I did other odd jobs to make money. We did not have any air conditioning in our house. I grew up very "average."
When I was fifteen, I was invited to an Amway meeting and learned about the benefits of being in a business of your own and having a positive attitude. I was given several books to read, including The Magic of Thinking Big. These encouraged me to have a good attitude and to start my own business. I also read a book called Seven Steps to Freedom: How to Escape the American Rat Race, which taught you how to start your own mail-order business. With the money I saved from my paper route and other odd jobs I started my first small mailorder business at the age of fifteen. Through hard work, skill, and a lot of luck, I became very successful. In fact, I made millions very early in my life. Just as fast as I made the millions, I lost the millions. My personal desire to make money was overwhelming and got me into major trouble. I cut corners and my ethics went straight out the window. My entire story is told on my web site, naturalcures.com.
The bottom line is over the years I've made and lost hundreds of millions of dollars. By most accounts people would call me "rich", but please know that money is no longer my driving, motivating force. As I mentioned in the book, making money is not bad; it only becomes bad when you put making money above everything else, including your employees, the environment, and society in general. Yes, I continue to make profits, and, yes, I continue to make a very good income and live a very nice lifestyle. Please know that I am using my fortune to expand my mission of educating the world about the dangers of drugs and surgery, and about the benefits of natural cures.
Q. Why does Natural CuresTM charge a membership fee for access to the Natural CuresTM.com website, and why do you charge for the Natural CuresTM newsletter?
A. Natural CuresTM employs a large, full-time staff including managers, designers, research writers, editing teams, and multiple departments with extensive support staff including customer service, shipping, and order fulfillment. Within each of the departments, we have offices, phones, computers, faxes, utility bills, rent, and supplies. Additionally, the Natural CuresTM Newsletter has its own full-time staff of research writers. The cost of printing the newsletter is substantial. Natural CuresTM pays for mailing and shipping costs, and operates a distribution center to manage the 40,000 newsletters shipped out monthly. It takes a huge amount of money to run Natural CuresTM. Your subscriptions and membership fees help to defray our costs.
Q. Why can other people write books and mention products by brand name and you are being so restricted?
A. There are dozens of other books, many of which I recommend in this book under the chapter "Still Not Convinced?" that say things that I am being forbidden to say. Other authors are allowed to mention products by brand name and make certain statements I am not. The reason is the Federal Trade Commission has taken direct aim at me personally. The Federal Trade Commission knows that I have over twenty million customers all around the world. The FTC knows that I have more influence on television, and on radio, than most any other author in natural health care. The FTC knows I am the person who will get the message out to the vast majority of people around the world where the other authors will not. They know that my books and publications sell in the millions, where other books only sell five or ten thousand copies. They are directing their attack on me because I am the one they fear the most.
Q. Will "natural cures" work for everybody?
A. I believe "natural cures" will work for everyone, but the specific "natural cure" that works for one person's symptoms may not work for another. An example is not everyone who smokes cigarettes comes down with lung cancer, but 98 percent of the people that develop lung cancer smoke cigarettes. What this means is not every single person that drinks diet soda will come down with multiple sclerosis, but almost everyone who comes down with multiple sclerosis probably is adversely affected by the aspartame in the diet soda. This is an important aspect to understand. Not everyone who puts a laptop computer on their lap will develop prostate cancer or arthritis in the knees, but almost all the people that have these types of problems were probably adversely affected by the laptop computer that they had on their lap. The reason for this apparent inconsistency is that everyone's genetic strengths and weaknesses are different. The four causes of all disease affect the genetically weak areas in a person. Therefore, two people could do exactly the same things and one person could come down with a disease and another person may not. This is also why two people can do the exact same "natural cure" and one person will see spectacular results and another person may not see the same exceptional results. However, there is a "natural cure" that that second person could use that would effect spectacular results. That is why doing the things in Chapter 6 is so vitally important for prevention and curing of disease.
