Diabetes

Testing blood sugar levels with diabtes equipment

Diabetes (diabetes mellitus) is a chronic, degenerative disease caused by insulin deficiencies due to the body being incapable of producing normal insulin levels, or insulin resistance, a condition in which the cells of the body resist insulin's attempts at regulating blood sugar levels. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas to metabolize glucose, a form of sugar that is one of the primary sources of cells' energy supply. Whether diabetes is caused by insulin resistance or a lack of insulin, the end result in the same: the body is unable to transport enough glucose from the bloodstream into the cells, especially after meals, when blood sugar levels rise as a natural consequence of digestion. EleotinNormally, blood sugar levels in the body are maintained by the body`s self-regulating mechanisms, known as homeostasis...

    Dear Pearl,

Thank you for your comment. We are sorry to hear that you are having some health problems. There are some natural alternatives to meds, but you must always consult a trained medical practitioner before doing these. Eleotin is one such alternative, or maybe your cholesterol/blood pressure meds are affecting the efficiency of your diabetes meds, you could ask your doctor if this is possible?

Also to help you lose some weight, there is a chance that an HCG diet may help if your doctor says you are allowed to do it. More information can be found on this site in regards to the hcg diet or visit hcganywhere.com.

    Kind Regards

Look into using raw camel milk for facilitating the healing of diabetes as well as quite a few other diseases. Camel milk has a unique form of insulin that is not destroyed in the stomach when consumed. It’s had extremely positive results for diabetics, and is also used in autism, cancer and other conditions. It does not have the same proteins as cow/goat milk and is therefore not likely to produce the same allergies and intolerances.

Question; I was diagnosed in Dec. 2011 with type2 as my a1c was 9.3%, at the time I was sitting on a computer all day, no excercise, only drank pop, only ate bing amounts of food, weighed 300lbs, and was eating 2-3 choc bars a night. Since being diagnosed I have lost 90lbs, excercise daily and have an a1c of 5.9% in under 3 months. My doctor still is trying to push metformin, but I am wondering if I might have cured or stopped the disease. I know its a leap, but my diet is all natural now, I use natural herbs and never get a spike after eatin of more than 6.7 after a meal, then in 2 hours 4-5 is my reading. I am taking uva ursi this week and red clay, as they have massive healing properties and have been found to cure diabetes in asia, anyone have any thoughs or tips, I do not trust perscriptions and I want some peace of mind, I mean even my diabetic specialist was amazed with my results and said I am in a non doabetic state, but should still take metformin …. seems fishy.

I must disagree with Kevin’s rather traditional assesment of Type 2 Diabetes. Would our cells really become “resistant” to the food they need and choose to starve themselves to death while there is plenty of glucose all around them? I think not.

In my opinion (as a Certified Holistic Health Coach, and after years of research and experimentation on myself), the underlying cause of Type 2 Diabetes is a deficiency of the fat-metabolizing enzyme Lipase. Without enough of this enzyme to function systemically, you will be unable to break down fats properly, leading to excessive accumulations of fat in the body in the forms of

    1) visceral fat (fat around the mid-section)
    2) high cholesterol
    3) high triglycerides
    4) high intracellular fat (too much fat inside the cells)
    5) corrupted fats on the cell membrane

In simple terms what this means is that your cells have an impaired ability to take in ANY nutrients, not just glucose, and also to eliminate waste. In essence they are starving to death and constipated at the same time. This is why diabetes has such devastating effects on every system of the body.

The answer is not to treat the symptom (high blood sugar) but to correct the underlying cause, which is lipase deficiency. You do not cure disease by treating symptoms, and that is all that Kevin appears to be offering here. Insulin-mimicking herbs are useless if the problem is with basic cell function and cell membrane permeability.

The diet that Kevin suggests for treating diabetes is also incorrect, in my opinion. Yes, diabetics should avoid carbohydrates in the initial phase of treatment– but ALL carbs, not just simple carbs. The body will not burn fat in the presence of carbohydrates, and the body needs to be in fat-burning mode to best utilize endogenously produced lipase and supplemental lipase. This means that in addition to avoiding all carbs except non-starchy vegetable carbs, diabetics should also eliminate all meats, poultry, fish, dairy, and especially any foods that contain polyunsaturated cooking oils (canola, safflower, etc.), as these will deplete the body’s supply of lipase.

By following a diet that consists of low-carb protein shakes and non-starchy vegetables, and taking supplemental lipase (LypoGold by Enzymedica is a good one), you will be able to get your blood sugar down to very near normal in about a week, maybe two. I kid you not, I did it myself– bringing my blood sugar readings down from over 300 to right around 100 in ONE WEEK. I have had diabetes for 12 years and nothing worked for me until I tried this.

Sticking to this diet for a long enough period, which will vary from individual to individual, anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, corrects the underlying problem and allows your body’s glucose metabolism to “reset”, much like restarting your computer. After this happens, you will be able to incorporate more healthy foods back into your diet, such as legumes and rice, but it is best to restrict your consumption of meats and other cooked fats, because, again, these use up your body’s supply of lipase.

One further note: the best exercise to lower blood sugar is walking. Light aerobic exercise burns sugar (in combination with oxygen, glucose forms ATP, which fuels your muscles, while anaerobic exercises such as weight lifting incur an “oxygen debt” and force your body to burn either fat or muscle for energy. If you are lipase deficient, you will burn more muscle than fat.

@ Gail…the product is Eleotin as was mentioned above. Their link is http://kt.eleotinusa.com/ (from the “Kevin Recommends” section on this site).

On another note, my 4 year old son, just got diagnosed w/ type 1 this weekend. Any feedback on that from a natural perspective is appreciated. We’re going the traditional route w/ insulin for the time being, but I don’t want to have him on that forever, because I too believe that if there’s a disease, there’s a cure.

I already have left a message for the Eleotin folks, and am waiting for a call back.

I also know that our pediatric endocrinologist will not be open to having a conversation about anything natural, because “he knows better”, so any advice on that is welcome. I’d have an easier time saying to move to a different route if it was me, but it’s my 4 year old, and I wan’t to make sure that I’m doing what’s best for him for the time being.

Well GAIL BINDON the brand name of that particular product is “Eleotin”…

  20. theremnantroom / June 24, 2011, 10:25 am

This is good info but primarily geared towards type 11 diabetics. I think we have tried nearly everything out there for natural healing of type 1. We have some positive results but the insulin can never be eliminated. I believe that if there is the disease there is a cure. I would appreciate any input anyone has. It concerns a 12 year old with a nearly 4 year duration of this terrible disease. Thank you in advance for any advice and I will try and share our many experiences with you. Sharon

I have been serving up organic and healthy foods for a number of years. My husband has been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes recently. He quit smoking in August with a prescription. He smoked since he was 14 years of age. He binge drinks beer, generally from Thursday to Saturday, some days more intensely than others. Is it possible that he is forgetting more due to the continued drinking?

I live in Kitchener Ontario Canada and a very recent new member to this website. A good friend of mine suffering from Diabetes just had his big toe removed from gangrene infection with the probability of more amputations to follow. In Kevin’s book, he mentions that a combination of herbs researched over a 20 year period at the University of Calgary has been recognized by the Asian Diabetic Association as the final cure for diabetes. Is it possible to get the brand name through Dr.YungSuKim (also in the book)or otherwise so that I may help my friend?

HI NATURAL CURES, THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION OF DIABETES. I HAVE AN ARMY BUDDY I HAVE NOT SEEN IN A WHILE. HE WAS A COOK AND I WAS A 91B20 (FIELD MEDIC). BETWEEN CURES AND GIN, I BELIEVE MY E-MAIL SAYS IT ALL, gofromhealthtowealth@gmail.com . THANK YOU AGAIN.

I believe that the combination of colon cleanse, colonics, candida yeast cleanse, chelation therapy, hydrogen peroxide therapy, taking Eloetin, Type II diabetes would be reversed and no longer in need to take insulin and or medication, as well as go back to eating regular foods only this time it would be organic.Therfore type II diabetes is curable.

  27. Anne Brown, Ph.D. / September 20, 2010, 5:07 am

I agree with everything here. However, I would prioritize a thorough cleansing program as a first step. Cleaning out the colon gives an immediate boost to losing weight which gives hope and energy to begin a good walking program. Equally important is that a clean colon allows the body to absorb the herbs that have been shown to support and normalize pancreatic functioning.

I would also encourage people to look into vanadium as well a chromium. They seem to work synergistically.

All supplements must be whole food supplements. Don’t waste your money (or your health) on fractured, synthesized stuff even it it’s cheaper.

Type II diabetes CAN be reversed!
