Leaky Gut

"Leaky gut" syndrome refers to a condition caused by damage to the stomach and intestinal lining, specifically the mucosa. When food allergies, unfriendly bacteria or parasites are present, the intestinal lining in the gut can become inflamed, and this inflammation can lead to a variety of serious health problems. First, it can create an irritated, immune compromised surface in the gut, where unfriendly bacteria, yeast, or parasites can multiply without resistance from the immune system, due to its weakened state. Second, it can create lesions, similar to miniscule pinholes in the intestinal lining. These lesions allow larger than normal or not fully broken down protein molecules to seep from the intestines, into the bloodstream...

    Hi Angisla,

The support team are not Practitioners, so i am afraid we are not able to comment on your first 2 questions.

As mentioned above, it is possible to cure but you need to see an alternative practitioner so they can set a treatment specific to you and your body.

    Dear naturalcures,
Thank you for all the information. I have been fighting with candida and leaky gut for 2 years and have some exit. I leave in an island where it is extremely difficult to find a good health specialist, all the specialists I tried were less informed than myself. Here in Spain even naturopaths do not have idea about the leaky gut. I continue to search a good specialist, but meanwhile try to do the best what I can do myself.
I have some general questions about the program of cure:
    1. It seems that leaky gut leads to weith gain, and all the supplements and the diet you propose leads to weight loss. Should I eat coconut oil, whey protein and other things that cure the gut but at the same time are recommended for weight loss, if I am extremely thin?
    2. Is it possible that my weight loss (I lost weight when I was 7 years old and now I am 35) is related with leaky gut?
    3. Is it possible to cure gluten intolerance? In my case, it is very strong but is not detected by conventional methods.

    Thank you!

Thank you for the information I intend to ask a naturopath about it today.
How long would a supplement program like the one above need to be followed for to see results?
