Liver Cleanse Day Two

Some people have asked me why I am doing the Liver Cleanse. Is it a diet? Is it a reaction to Christmas/New Year? There are many answers but I think a phrase I heard from Kevin Trudeau on a hike in early December sums it up. "You have to invest in yourself and particularly your health". Often when you find a career or activity you love, it can consume your time and energy. If you are fortunate enough to make a good living with your chosen career you may decide to invest in self-improvement materials, golf club memberships, a nicer car, house, clothes? But how about investing in a personal trainer, a juice machine, a spa trip? Not usually!

So it was with a desire to start making deposits in my health account that I decided on the cleanses. I certainly expect to lose weight (and am already) but that is a side-effect. I'm advised by Dr Schultze that the main benefit of the Liver Cleanse will be increased energy. I'll keep you updated, now back to the review.

After a strong 1st day, I started day 2 with an open mind as it is the start of a three day, liquid-only regimen, which I have never done before.

I weighed in this morning at 81.5kgs (179lbs), a loss from yesterday of 1.5kgs or 4lbs. I'm not reading too much in to this as there can be a natural fluctuation and at a 83kg starting weight that is a couple of pounds heavier than I normally am.

The morning was smooth with lots of water and some fresh squeezed oranges. Mixed up the vegetables in the afternoon, juicing 2 or 3 different recipes which certainly kept me satisfied and no hunger pangs right through the day which is a real bonus. I think that being at the office during the day certainly keeps your mind off lunch and snacking, so it will be interesting to see how 2 days at home will be from tomorrow.

Bowel movements are still 1-2 per day but obviously less volume (sorry to be so graphic) as the solid food intake has reduced quite dramatically.

Managed a trip out with friends ten-pin bowling, glad to say my energy levels were high and as it's only day 2, my willpower in sticking to water and avoiding snacks was strong.

No headaches in the day, although a mild one in the evening was around 3 out of 10 for severity, my usual solution of drinking water didn't seem quite appropriate as I'd already had 128oz's of water through the day.

Looking forward to doing more juicing tomorrow which is a weekend day at home with the family. The kids (2ys & 4yrs) are really looking forward to putting the juicer through it's paces.
