Liver Cleanse Day Three

As day three of the 5-day liver cleanse starts I can stress enough the role that good planning plays in a successful cleanse. It is often said that "failing to prepare" is in fact "preparing to fail" and like any diet or cleanse this is no different. If you are attempting to do a liver cleanse here's just some of the things you need to plan or purchase:

  1. Lots of distilled water – Some days call for over 130 oz's or 4ltrs if you prefer. I believe I will use over 500oz's of water (16ltrs) on this 5 day program.
  2. Take 20 minutes to map out when you are going to drink the tea, what juices you will make, what time you'll get up, what time you’ll be eating snacks. This makes things much easier and takes any stress out.
  3. You need a good juicer. I've been a long term fan of the Jack La Lanne juicer, recently though I switched to a Philips Juicemaster version. Much easier to clean, use and looks good too.
  4. Buy or prepare each day to buy lots of organic fruit and veg to juice (or eat on day 1 & 5).
  5. You need to plan on having 45 extra minutes in the morning to make the detox tea, that means starting earlier each day or leaving the house later.

Dr Schultze's plan does come with an easy to read guide that has lots of good advice so make sure you have some time to read over it prior to starting. Ok, back to the day 3 review.

I weighed in this morning at 80.4kg's (177 lbs) so a loss of 2.6kg's (6lbs) so far.

It's Saturday so at home with the family. It's the 2nd of three "fasting" days so just juice and water along with the Dr Schultze drops and detox tea. Lots planned from taking Christmas decorations down, chopping up the Christmas tree to shopping with the children so the day goes very quickly. I didn't sleep particularly well last night again with lots of tossing and turning. Had a small cold before the cleanse so it could be unrelated to the cleanse. Despite this still had more energy than usual and feel great at the halfway point of the cleanse. There was a family dinner in the evening but I chose to read the paper in another room rather than tease myself with great smelling food. Had my first hunger pang this afternoon, but it disappeared when I had a juice, probably left it a little too long in between drinking.

It's very fulfilling to know that the willpower is holding and that my body can actually cope, even thrive, without heavy meals we are accustomed to. Let's hope Sunday works the same way!
