Description: Mustard is created from mixing whole or ground mustard seeds with vinegar, and adding spices. Diversity of varieties depends on the type of mustard seed, vinegar, sweeteners and spices added to the mix.
What to look for: All organic ingredients, including mustard seeds, preferably raw apple cider vinegar, unrefined sweeteners, sea salt and organic spices.
Uses: From salad dressings to sandwich spreads, mustard, to some of us, brings us to the heart of the matter; it’s a personal preference, of course. We like it hot and mixed in as many things as we can imagine.
Where to find: Grocery stores, natural food stores and online resources.
Avoid: Inorganic varieties, blended with white vinegar, refined sweeteners, and conventional salt.
